Francine Medoff has
been a teacher and artist all of her working life. Her great love of
all things Jewish inspired her to start a Jewish nursery school in her
own temple, where she taught for many years. Through the years she has
also taught at all levels of Hebrew school as well as teaching adults.
About ten years ago she added tallit making to her repertoire and has
taught bar and bat mitzvah students in Great Neck and Port Washington.
Many of the adults fell in love with the tallitot which prompted Fran
to start evening adult classes in her home. Some of the parents wanted
to make tallitot with their children as part of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation,
so family tallit making was included in the curriculum. Much of Fran’s
own art work has Jewish themes which she uses in many different media.
Her work has appeared in one–woman and group shows in the New York
area and is also included in private collections. Fran is the author
of The Mouse in the Matzah Factory, a children’s story for Pesah.

run your workshop, to relieve your anxiety and encourage
your creativity, to learn the reasons for tallit and the
freedom to make it unique, please invite her to teach your
workshop. The steps below provide you with everything you

us to borrow a sample of a Garment in Process.
This is a sample of the garment you are looking
to create. It shows the process in which the garment
is made: from a blank fabric, to a traced design,
to a colored segment. This will help people understand
the simplicity of the process and see the high
quality of the finished heirloom. While there
is no charge for the Garment in Process, we do
need your credit card information to secure the
return of the garment. |
